LS passes bill to repeal 1980 act

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) The Lok Sabha today passed a bill seeking to repeal the Union Duties of Excise (Electricity) Distriction Act 1980.

Moving the bill, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said the act had become redundant since 1984. The P C Jain Committee also recommended repeal of the act.
