IAF faces shortfall in women pilots
New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) The government today said there has been a shortfall in the number of women pilots joining the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Though the response from women students to join IAF as pilots has shown an increasing trend, recruitment has suffered a decline, said Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
There is a shortfall in the number of woman inductees compared to the vacancies, Mr Mukherjee told the Lok Sabha during question hour.
The reason for the shortfall is the stringent selection procedure of the Air Force, he added.
