HPBSE announces 49.70 per cent result for eleventh standard

Dharamshala, May 18 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBSE) today announced 49.70 per cent results for Plus one streams of Science, Humanities, Commerce and Vocational group.

Board Secretary K D Lakhanpal said 48,276 students out of a total of 98,883 students qualified the board examinations, which were held in March and April earlier this year.

The overall pass percentage of plus one standard was 49.70, he said, adding that the pass percentage for vocational group was 75.94 per cent with 660 students out of a total of 869 students qualifying the examination.

Mr Lakhanpal said 744 students out of 1,133 compartment cases were declared successful with a pass percentage of 68.07 per cent in this category.

In Arts Group, all the first three positions were bagged by girl students, he said.

Neha of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Bilaspur and Rakhee Thakur of S D Senior Secondary School, Shimla secured 401 marks out of 500 to bag the first position, while Shakuntula Devi of Senior Secondary School Sugh, Batoli, Kangra and Neelam Kumar of DAV Senior Secondary School Una secured 399 and 393 marks respectively to be named second and third.

He said, in the Commerce group, Radika Jain of Chand Public School Guggar, Gaurav Narang of Dharamshala and Priyanka Gandhi of Darlaghat secured 432, 392 and 382 marks respectively to bag first, second and third positions respectively.

In Vocational group, Prabhjot Singh and Raman Kuar both students of Government Senior Secondary School Basdehra, Una secured 635 and 628 marks respectively to bag first and third position in the group.

Ashish Mahajan of Government Senior Secondary School Chamba was second with 632 marks, he said.

In Science group, 10 boys and two girls bagged the first 10 positions with Gurharsh Singh of Ramshila, Ambuj Chandil of Bilaspur, Poonam Ratwan of Gumarwin secured 455, 453 and 452 marks respectively to be named first, second and third.

Rohit Sood of Ramshila with 449 marks was placed fourth.
