Heat wve prevails in Telangana

Pune, May 18 (UNI) Heat wave conditions prevailed in isolated places in Telangana.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Sikkim, Manipur, and appreciaby above normal in Rayalseema, north coastal Karnataka and in some parts of sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, south Madhya Maharashtra and were above normal in Tripura, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka, in remaining parts of Telangana and in some parts of coastal Tamil Nadu.

They were apperciably to markedly below normal in interior Orissa, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chattisgarh, and in some parts of Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Punjab Jammu and Kashmir, North Rajasthan, North West Madhya Pradesh and north coastal Andhra Pradesh.

They were normal over rest of the country.

Heavy to very rains are likely to occur at most places in Andaman and Nicobar and heavy rains likely to occur in many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttranchal, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhatisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telanagana, Rayalseema and Karnataka.

Very heavy rains occured at most places in Andaman and Nicobar islands.

Very light rain occurred at isolated places in Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, a few places in Uttarachal and at isolated places in West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarvbha Chattisgah, South interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
