Greed for money lands four in jail

Bangalore, May 18 : Four people are cooling their heals behind the bars for trying to rob a plastic factory owner in the city of over Rs 15 lakh by enacting a drama.

Police said the factory owner had asked two of his workers, Lokesh (28) and Shivabharath (25), to bring Rs 15.5 lakh from the factory. However, the duo decided to rob the money by enacting a drama in connivance with their friends, Sandeep and Srikanth, both aged 29.

As planned, Sandeep and Srikanth waylaid the duo, threw chilli powder at them and escaped with the money.

However, suspecting foul play, the factory owner lodged a complaint with the police and investigation revealed that the entire episode was a drama.

Police arrested the culprits and recovered the money from them.

A car and a motorcycle used to commit the crime was also seized.

The arrested were remanded in judicial custody.
