New Delhi, May 18: The government is considering the feasibility for enacting a comprehensive Public Service Act which would provide or the consitution of a Central Public Service Authority to aid and advise the central government in matters concerning public service and public servants, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension and MOS Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachauri said in a written reply that the proposed authority under the law would advise the government on all matters concerning organisation, control, operation and management of public service and public servants.

He said no specific time frame could be fixed for establishing the authority at this stage. At present the government is holding preliminary discussions to assess the feasibility of enacting the law.
