Girl burnt, thrown in well

Damoh, MP, May 18 (UNI) A minor girl was set on fire and then thrown into a well by an unidentified 'sadhu' in Ghunguan village in this district, police said today.

Devka Bai Kanchhi had gone to her farm at 0400 hrs yesterday when an unidentified 'baba' doused her with kerosene and set her on fire.

Later, he flung her into a well nearby.

The girl, who sustained 50 per cent burn injuries, climbed the stairs of the well and reached home, where she informed family members about the incident.

Devka, who was rushed to hospital in block headquarters, was stated to be in critical condition.
