Geojit reports 118 % hike in net profit

Kochi, May 18 (UNI) Geojit Financial Services Ltd today announced a 87 per cent increase in turnover to Rs 101.79 crore, 109 per cent higer profit before tax of Rs 33.12 crore and 118 per cent hike in net profit at 22.43 crore for the year ended March 2006.

It also provided Rs 10.69 crore for tax and declared a final dividend of Rs 2.25 per share.

With the interim dividend of Rs 1.75, the total dividend payout was now Rs four amounting to 40 per cent.

The credit for the impressive performance of the company went to initiatives in branch expansion, technology and new products, the company sources said.
