First-ever 'Know US Challenge' to be held in B'lore

Bangalore, May 18: Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Consulate General Chennai is hosting for the first time ever 'Know US Challenge' at the American Corner, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Race Course Road, Bangalore.

Well-known actor and playwright Mr. Girish Karnad will serve as the chief guest and crown the winner of the challenge. He will also present one lucky audience member with a brand new i-Pod mp3 music player-everyone in attendance will be eligible in this random drawing!

The 'Know US Challenge' will bring together 40 high-achieving students from throughout south India in Bangalore to compete for valuable prizes and the prestige of being chosen the top 'Indo-US Student Ambassador' for their state.

The grand prize winner of the Challenge will walk away with an HP laptop computer, while three runner-ups will be awarded i-Pod music players.

The 'Know US Challenge' will test students' expertise of U.S. history, politics, geography, culture, entertainment, arts and literature. The winners will only emerge after a grueling series of team and individual exercises, throughout the day on May 20. At 7:00 p.m. that night, at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, 20 finalists will take the stage in a no-hold-barred final challenge.
