Fall in stock market only sentimental, says ASSOCHAM
New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) Reacting on the 826 points crash in the stock market, ASSOCHAM President Anil K Agarwal today said it has mainly happened due to increase in consumer price index in the US which might result in slowing of their imports, which are basically from emerging markets of Asia.
Decreasing imports of the US would naturally result in a negative impact on the Indian stock markets as most of the US demands are meted out from developing economies, he said.
The ASSOCHAM Chief, however hoped that since the economic fundamentals are strong, the stock market will immediately regain its past momentum and therefore the investors should not unnecessary panic with the recent negative developments.
