Employees to take anti-terrorism pledge tom
New Delhi, May 18: Employees of the Central government and Public Sector organisations will take a pledge to fight against terrorism tomorrow as part of the observance of "Anti-Terrorism Day" on May 21.
Home Minister Shivraj Patil will administer pledge to the officers and staff of his ministry at 1030 hrs tomorrow at the lawns in North Block.
Official sources said the ''pledge taking'' was being organised tomorrow in order to avoid inconvenience to the employees to come to office on May 21, a Sunday.
Every year, May 21 is observed as Anti-Terrorism Day with a objective to wean away the youth from terrorism and cult of violence by highlighting the sufferings of common people and showing how it is prejudicial to national interest.
Debates and discussions are held in schools, colleges and universities and holding of symposia and seminars, lectures, etc. on the dangers of terrorism and violence on May 21.
An important feature of observance of the Anti-Terrorism Day is the "pledge-taking" ceremony in all Government offices, public sector undertakings and other public institutions.
