Congress should clear its stand over PDP's resolution: Panun

Jammu, May 18 (UNI) Criticising the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) stand on ''self-rule and demilitarisation of Jammu and Kashmir the Panun Kashmir (PK) today asked the Union government and Congress to clear its position on its coalition partner's recent resolution.

The political affairs committee (PAC) of Panun Kashmir decried the union government and the Congress leadership, both at the centre and the state for maintaining a coalition with PDP after its ''Pro Pakistan''stand.

In a meeting to discuss and deliberate upon the recent development in the state with special reference to the attacks on the Hindu minority in Doda, Chairman of Punun Kashmir (Dr Agnishekhar) Dr K L Chowdhary expressed surprise that the Congress was silent even after the complete turnaround in programmes and pronouncements of the PDP.

He further alleged that the Congress leadership in Delhi has slowly acquiesced and finally succumbed to Pakistan president Gen Pervez Musharraf's doctrine which is slowly but surely legitimising the separation of Kashmir from the rest of India through a process of dialogue and engagement catching our leaders unguarded and unawares of the nefarious designs of Pakistan.

Rejecting the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits out of valley he said that there was no question of settlement outside the valley especially as the whole exiled population has sworn to fight for a homeland in the valley for all Community members.

Dr Chowdhury expressed great shock at the latest grenade attack on Doda refugees in the camp yesterday, and said this was clear proof of failure of intelligence and abdication of authority by the state government in protecting the life of Hindu minorities He ridiculed the politicians of the state and the centre who termed all terror attacks as signs of frustration of the terrorists. On the contrary these are signs of helplessness and frustration of the people kin against authorities, he claimed.
