Cong workers burn TDP youth wing leader's effigy

Vijayawada, May 18 (UNI) Congress party workers today burnt an effigy of 'Telugu Yuvatha', the youth wing of Telugu Desam Party president T Srinivasa Yadav in protest against his remarks on Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

A group led by city president P Sominaidu and Urban Develoment Authority (UDA) chairman M Vishnu took out a procession from the party office 'Andhra Ratna Bhavan' to arterial Karl Marx road and burnt the effigy.

They raised slogans against TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and Srinivasa Yadav.

Earlier, at a press conference here, both the leaders came down heavily on Mr Yadav for his allegations against Dr Reddy. Mr Yadav alleged that there was no prevalence of rule of law and that the TDP workers were eliminated by Congess men. They also alleged that the Chief Minister was a land grabber and a street rowdy.

The Congress demanded an apology from Yadav on his outbursts.
