Advocate arrested for raising slogans in Delhi Assembly

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) An advocate, who raised anti-Sonia Gandhi and anti-Congress slogans from the visitors' gallery in Delhi Assembly, was today arrested and sent to jail for seven days.

Half-and-hour after the House began in the morning today, one Mr V P Sharma, who had been sitting in the visitors' gallery, got up and started shouting anti-Sonia Gandhi and anti-Congress slogans.

He was immediately nabbed by security personnel and taken outside.

Finance Minister A K Walia and Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President and MLA R B Sharma demanded that he be arrested and demanded an inquiry into how he managed to secure a pass for the gallery.

Police has registered a case and Sharma was send to seven-day judicial custody in Tihar Jail.
