Waiting list for phone connections to be cleared by December

Thiruvananthapuram, May 17 (UNI) The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) proposes to clear the entire waiting list for telephone connections in Kerala by December this year, its Chief General Manager, Kerala circle S A Thomas said today.

Presiding over the World Telecommunication Day celebration here, he said so far BSNL had provided 2.6 lakh internet connections, including 35,000 broadband connections.

He said mobile phone connections had exceeded 16.5 lakh. Among the service providers, BSNL has a market share of 40 per cent.

Meritorious service awards for different categories of employees were distributed at the function.
