UPSC orders re-examination of prelims in Public Administration
New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has ordered re-examination of the Civil Services (Preliminary) for the subject Public Administration on June 18 in the light of allegations of discrepancy in the tallying of the number of question papers at one of the examination centres.
A spokesman of the UPSC said here tonight that it was brought to the notice of the Commission on the day of the examination on May 14 that there was a discrepancy in the tallying of the number of question papers at one of the Examination Centers for the optional subject Public Administration.
''Immediate enquiries were held but the discrepancy in the tallying could not be reconciled. No complaint or allegation of leakage or any malpractice has been received by the Commission so far. A detailed inquiry into the entire issue has been ordered and is being conducted,'' sources said.
However, in order to ensure total confidence in the minds of the candidates in the integrity of the Examination, it has been decided by the Commission to cancel the earlier examination held on May 14 only for the subject Public Administration.
The re-examination in respect of all the candidates who have earlier appeared in the examination for the subject Public Administration will now be held by the Commission on June 18.
The exact details of venue, time and admit cards for the re-examination are being mailed by the Commission separately, the sources added.
