Uma Bharti hits out at Sonia
Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, May 17 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) President Uma Bharati today hit out at Ms Sonia Gandhi on the 'Office of Profit' issue, saying the Constitutional amendment was designed to benefit the AICC President.
Talking to newsmen here, Ms Bharti accused Ms Gandhi of whipping up sentiments of the country and making a mockery of democracy 'just to serve her image and interests.' The BJS leader proposed a trilingual formula for greater unity of the country which included strengthening Sanskrit as a mode of inter-state communication and making English 'a mode of communication with the rest of the world.' Describing conversions as 'a conspiracy to shatter the society and an attempt to weaken the nation and its social fabric,' Ms Bharti said a Hindu could read a Bible or Quran without getting coverted.
On reservations, she said it was necessary till everyone got an equal oportunity.
