Three tourists killed as bus rolls into gorge in HP
Shimla, May 17 (UNI) At least three people were killed and 39 injured, three of them seriously, after a private tourist bus, they were traveling in, rolled down into a gorge at Jarol in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh late last night, police today said.
The vehicle with school children from Gujarat on board rolled down the gorge at about 0230 hrs after the driver failed to control it hear Jarol, 30 kms from Mandi on the Manali-Kiratpur national highway.
Police said the vehicle was carrying a tour of school children from Surat in Gujarat to Manali in Kullu district when it met with accident late last night a few hours after starting from Nalagarh in Solan district of the state.
The seriously injured people, identified as Vijay Patel, Sanjay Kumar and Haseel Shah, (all from Surat) were referred to Zonal Hospital at Mandi after being given first aid at a hospital in Sunderngar.
Police said the dead have been identified as Manjula and Kunal Kumar (both from Surat) and conductor of the bus Joginder Kumar.
