Three killed lightning

Jammu, May 17 (UNI) Three women died on the spot and three others were injured when lightning struck at Surag village in Kathua district.

According to police, the deceased were returning from their field late yesterday when the lightning struck. Khonam Begum (75), Fatima Begum (22) and Shamshad Bano (20) died on the spot and Nahida Bano (9), Mohammad Hafeez (26) and Praveen Akhtar (12) were injured.

The injured have been admitted to the district hospital.
