Sudden rain disrupts life in AP city

Vijayawada, May 17 (UNI) Sudden heavy rain accompanied by gales lashed the commercial city this evening bringing much needed relief to the people suffering from scorching summer heat.

Trees were uprooted at many places and the city was plunged into darkness due to power failure.

Power was gradually restored in some areas when reports last came in. Many low lying areas were innundated due to the sudden 90-minute downpour, sources said.
