Select metals rise on heavy industrial demand

Mumbai, May 17 (UNI) Select metal prices rose on heavy industrial demand along with London Metal Exchange, traders at the metal exchange today said.

In the ferrous section, copper utensils and aluminium utensils hiked by Rs 500 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars, aluminium ingots and lead ingots increased by Rs 600, Rs 500 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively as sellers were hoarding their stocks.

Tin slab came down by Rs five per kg on thin buying support while nickel cathode went up by Rs 20 per kg on lesser stocks supply.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 40,500, copper utensils - Rs 36,500, brass utensils - Rs 23,500, brass cuttings - Rs 27,000, aluminium utensils - Rs 11,200.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 42,800, aluminium ingots - Rs 15,000, zinc slab - Rs 18,600, lead ingots - Rs 7,200, tin slab - Rs 515 (per kg), nickel cathode - Rs 1,030 (per kg).
