Pakistan to get four frigrates from Greece: Aziz
Islamabad, May 17 (UNI) Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, currently on a visit to Greece, announced that the Pakistan navy will acquire four frigates from the European nation, two out of which will be delivered this year.
The two countries are looking forward to stronger ties in defence and security related matters and have agreed on the deal, the Daily Times today quoted Mr Aziz as saying.
Without disclosing the details of the deal, he said Pakistan was acquiring used frigates from Greece.
He said two frigates would be delivered this year and the other two in 2007. The Greek Navy uses Elli class frigates and the same would be provided to Pakistan.
Pakistan has been getting defence equipment from different countries to meet its defence needs.
