Noted Gujarati Poet Ramesh Parekh passes away

Rajkot, May 17 (UNI) Noted Gujarati Poet Ramesh Parekh passed away here today following a severe heart attack.

He was 66 and is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Hailing from Amreli, he suffered a severe attack this morning at his home here and was rushed to a private hospital but could not survive, family sources said.

The noted poet was bestowed the Sahitya Academy Award for his poetry collection ''Vetan sud beej'' in 1994.
