Murder accused MLA and former minister to attend assembly
Lucknow, May 17 (UNI) The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today allowed Uttar Pradesh MLA and former state minister Amarmani Tripathi -- prime accused in the Madhumita Shukla murder case -- to attend the UP assembly session on May 18 and 19.
Justice Rakesh Sharma passed the order on an application filed by Tripathi. However, he has been directed not to use any electronic gadget including cellular phone.
The bench also ordered the Lucknow SSP to make security arrangements to escort the MLA from district jail to Vidhan Sabha.
Tripathi had contended that being a people's representative, he be allowed to attend the assembly session from May 12 to 19.
