Minister regrets non-implementation of scheme

Hazaribag, May 17 (UNI) Jharkhand Science and Technology and Land Revenue minister Chandraprakash Choudhuri today regretted that the National Rurual Employment gurantee scheme was not being properly implemented in his district.

Mr Choudhuri stressed on holding more workshops and programmes to create public awareness on the issue.

Talking to reporters here on the sidelines of a meeting with district officials here, the minister said the scheme was not reaching the poor and the needy.

The deputy commissioner, present at the meeting, said the scheme which was meant for five years should come up for regular reviews.

He opined that only proper monitoring of the scheme could lead to expected target.
