Mid-day Meals At Madarasas

New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) Students will be provided mid-day meals in Madarasas that are government-aided or covered by Education Guarantee or Alternative and Innovative Education Centre schemes, Parliament was told today.

Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandeswari said 60,150 new schools were sanctioned for 2005-06 under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in districts with substantial Muslim population.

These included 2,643 new primary schools, 1,978 new upper primary schools and 55,529 EGS centres, she said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
