Srinagar, May 17 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government today finalised the security and other arrangements for ''smooth'' holding of the second round-table conference here on May 24-25, and also for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's two-day visit to the Valley.

State Chief Secretary Vijay Bakaya chaired a high-level meeting here today to finalise the arrangements.

Keeping in view the importance of the conference, Mr Bakaya said the state administration should remain fully geared up and should make appropriate arrangements for hosting the conference smoothly.

Reviewing implementation of the Prime Minister's reconstruction programme, the meeting was told that the progress on all development works which had been taken up under the package were going on in full swing.

Various works were executed under the double-shift system for their speedy completion, the Chief Secretary was told.

The meeting was attended among others by Director General of Police (DGP) Gopal Sharma, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Anil Goswami, Additional DGP Kuldeep Khuda, Commissioner Secretary Information and Technology Lokesh Jha and other senior officials of various departments.
