Jagson adds world's largest helicopter in fleet

New Delhi, May 17: Jagson Airlines today announced addition of two 26-seater helicopters MI-172 to its fleet at an estimated value of more than 10 million dollars.

Built by Kazan Helicopters, one of the leading helicopter manufacturers in the world, MI-172s are the world's largest commercial passenger helicopters.

Equipped with new and sophisticated systems from BAE Systems, the helicopters conform to international safety standards.

''The purchase of these two helicopters is a significant step towards expanding our operations in regions such as Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and the North East,'' said Jagson's chief executive officer U.K. Bose.

Several state governments have already started approaching us for long-term lease of these helicopters, he said adding the airline will add more such helicopters in its fleet.

Jagson is all set to launch its national carrier operations by June. Having firmed up plans to purchase 20 Airbus A321 aircraft for 1.3 billion dollars, it has launched a global sales representation network with the signing of agreements with general sales agents worldwide.

It is also the first low cost airline in the country to offer a two-class configuration of premium executive and executive.

Jagson has the credit of being the first private airline in the country to operate scheduled flight on a regular basis with an unblemished record of operations since 1992.
