Gramin bank employees' strike on May 19
Kannur, Kerala, May 17 (UNI) Officers and employees of the North-Malabar Gramin Bank and the South Malabar Gramin Bank will participate in the one-day strike called by the All-India Regional Rural Bank Employees' Association on May 19.
The strike was called to press their demands such as the setting up of state-level Regional Rural Banks(RRBs) under the National Rural Bank of India by delinking the RRBs from sponsor banks, revision of financial package and rights to RRB staff as per the bipartite settlement signed last year.
All-Kerala Gramin Bank Staff Federation general secretary C C Premaraj said in a press release here yesterday that the other demands included business-linked manpower planning, regular promotion from all cadres, withdrawal of all deputed officers except Chairman from the RRBs and formation of an apex-level negotiating forum.
