Govt job on bogus caste certificate exposed

Raisen. MP, May 17 (UNI) A racket of securing employment in the CRPF and BSF on the basis of bogus Scheduled Tribe certificate has been exposed in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh.

As many as 28 such cases had already been detected. Besides departmental action, criminal cases were being registered against them, Tahsildar Sunilraj Nair said.

During inquiry, Mr Nair said, the caste certificates along with proof of being resident of Raisen district, produced by 28 persons.

The accused gained employment in CRPF's 1st battalion at Srinagar, 9th Bn at Firozepur and 34th Bn at Neemuch and in BSF at Siliguri. They got jobs in 2005 on the basis of the caste certificates issued in 1998-99. The racket was exposed during verification of the certificates on the request of the concerned battalions, Mr Nair said.

Criminal cases had already been registered against seven people, he added.
