Governor invites Achuthanandan to form next Govt

Thiruvananthapuram, May 17 : Kerala Governor R L Bhatia today formally invited CPI(M) Parliamentary Party leader V S Achuthanandan to form the next Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government in the staet.

Speaking to newspersons at Raj Bhavan after meeting the Governor, Mr Achuthanandan said he would be sworn-in as Chief Minister tomorrow at 1600 hrs and would have a 19-member Cabinet.

Earlier, he formally staked claim to form the government by submitting letters of support from the CPI(M), CPI, Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), Kerala Congress (Joseph) and other coalition partners.

While the newly-elected MLAs would take oath on May 24 and 25, the new government would propose to the governor to convene the assembly after two weeks, he added.
