New Delhi, May 16 (UNI)The AIIMS Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) tonight denied that any striking resident would resume work from tomorrow, and said the letter to the hospital authorities about the withdrawal of doctors from the agitation was written in personal capacity.

''The letter to the AIIMS authorities was written by the doctors in their individual capacity without the consent of the RDA executive. We are continuing with the indefinite strike,'' AIIMS RDA Spokesperson Dr Harsh Kumar told UNI.

The RDA in a late night emergency meeting of its executive to dispel confusion created by the letter, decided to withdraw it.

Dr Kumar said, the executive comprises of 12 members and the letter was sent on behalf of two doctors only.

''The letter is withdrawn with immediate effect'', he added.

Commenting on the letter earlier, Dr Kumar had said, ''These are just rumours to weaken and break our anti-quota movement.'' AIIMS Officiating Deputy Director Mayank Sharma earlier said he had received a letter signed by RDA General Secretary Dr Arvind and Dr Sukhbir which said all residents had withdrawn from the strike.

Residents, junior doctors and medical students are on an indefinite hunger strike since Sunday opposing the government's proposal to reserve 27 per cent seats for OBCs in centres of higher learning.
