Centre urged to implement reservation for OBCs in education
Chennai, May 17 (UNI)The Chennai based Campaign Committee for Reservation today appealed to the people of Tamil Nadu and well wishers of social justice to join its human chain agitation on May 23 to support the Centre's move to provide 27 per cent Reservation for OBCs in Central Higher Educational institutions.
Passing resolutions at a meeting supporting the Reservation, the committee appealed to the Centre to implement the 27 per cent Reservation fully and immediately from the current academic year, according to a press release.
The meeting decided to organise the human chain agitation alongside the Marina beach in support of the Reservation.
It appealed to political organisations, youth, women, trade union organisations and social justice movements to take part in the agitation.
