Asian Grand Prix Torch Light Relay from Mysore on May 19

Mysore, May 17 (UNI) Karnataka Athletics Association and Athletics Federation of India will be organising 'Asian Grand Prix Torch Light Relay' in the city on May 19.

The relay, to be flagged off by district in charge Minister D T Jayakumar from the main entrance of the palace, would culminate in Bangalore on May 21.

Talking to newspersons here, Association Joint Secretary Mahadev said over 400 members would be taking part in the charity run. It would stop at Maddur and Ramanagaram on way to Bangalore.

In Bangalore, the torch light would be handed over to the main run at Mayo hall and it would reach the Kanteerava Stadium. Sports personalities including Anil Kumble, Sunil Joshi, Prakash Padukone, Anju Bobby George and Ashwini Nachappa would take part in the run.

On May 22, the best athletes in Asia would showcase their talents at the Kanteerava stadium. It would be a selection trial for picking up the Asian team for IAAF World Athletics Cup.
