Three drowned in stone-quarry

Kozhikode, May 16 (UNI) Three people, including two women and a boy, drowned in a stone-quarry near Vadakara in this district today.

The trio, Narayani (45), Kamala (42) and an 11-year-old unidentified boy were swimming in the abandoned quarry at Memunda Meenkandippara, when the mishap occurred around noon.

Fire service personnel fished out the bodies and sent them to Vadakara General Hospital for post-mortems, police said.
