Shramjivi blast accused held in police custody
Jaunpur, May 16: The prime accused in last year's Patna-New Delhi Shramjivi Express bomb blast case was today remanded in police custody till May 22.
Earlier, Obaid-ur-Rehman was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Indra Bhushan Goyal from the district jail.
The police had submitted an application seeking his remand, which was granted by the court.
However, the CJM ordered that the terror accused should not be subjected to torture.
Obaid-ur-Rehman alias Babu was lodged in the district jail after he was brought here from Murshidabad, West Bengal. He is a native of Bangladesh.
The bomb blast aboard Shramjivi Express on July 28, 2005 near Singramau railway station in Jaunpur had claimed at least 14 lives, while about 90 persons were wounded.
