Reliance 'ringing' loud in AP
Visakhapatnam, May 16 (UNI) Reliance Infocom, AP network, has become a pioneer in the communications sector through its Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) cellular services technology+, Chief Executive Officer R Balachandran said today.
Addressing a press conference here, he said after the commercial launch of its services in Andhra Pradesh in May 2003, Reliance had created a base of 18.5 lakhs customers, most of whom were mobile users.
There was tremendrous growth in the state during the period and he thanked the people of Andhra Pradesh who are IT-savvy,+ he said.
The reasons could be many. But the main aspect was affordable cost of mobile sets and low tariff range of Reliance. The core success was due to quality service spread over 97,000 villages and 400 towns in the state.
He claimed that the north coastal region 20,000 villages had been covered by reliance infocom has completed ten years in the state with remarkable achievements.
