Rabies claims another life in Gujarat village

Anand, Gujarat, May 16 (UNI) Rabies claimed the second today life at Sarolvillage, about 35 kilometres from here, while, the conditions of the two persons undergoing treatment and are reported to be serious.

Official sources said a woman, Bhanuben Jadav, succumbed to rabies late last night. Condition of two other patients have deteriorated, the sources said. Ten domesticated and farm animals have also succumbed to rabies over the past few days.

Yesterday, a villager, Kanubhai Lalji Jadav (40), had died while undergoing treatment.

The villagers had been bitten by a rabies-infected dog which had gone berseck and bitten as many as fifteen villagers and 65 animals on April 24.
