One month-old girl killed in clash

Kannur, Kerala, May 16 (UNI) A one-month-old girl was crushed to death in a clash between a group of nomads and a local gang at Cherupuzha, about 70 km from here, yesterday.

The deceased was the daughter of Prakash Shinde and Yamuna hailing from Mainhalli in Karnataka.

According to the police, two youths came to the settlement of the nomads and tried to misbehave with a 14-year-old girl. The nomads attacked the youths and drove them away.

After a few hours a 15-member group of locals came to the place and attacked the nomads resulting in the death of the infant.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
