No waiting list for phone in Kannur SSA

Kannur, Kerala, May 16 (UNI) BSNL General Manager P T Mathew today said 83,054 new telephone connections including 24,982 WLL connections had been provided in the Kannur Secondary Switchinbg Area during the last financial year wiping out the waiting list for telephones.

He told a news conference here that the BSNL proposed to give 45,000 landlines and 50,000 WLL connections during the current fiscal.

Mr Mathew said in mobile category, 26,536 GSM post-paid and 90,815 prepaid connections were given and GSM connections were now available on demand.

He said in the 325 and 525 BSNL one India plan incoming and roaming had been made free up to June and only ten paise were charged for SMS.
