NCW to launch women's programme in Meghalaya

Shillong, May 16 (UNI) The National Commission for Women (NCW) will launch its programme ''Gaon Ki Chalo Ore'' in Meghalaya.

The programme aims at extending the concept of women empowerment to the rural areas in the state.

Member of NCW Smt Neeva Konwar, during her recent visit here, discussed the modalities of the programme with the State Chief Secretary, the Chairperson of Meghalaya State Commission for Women and the senior government officials.

The visiting NCW member also met Chief Minister D D Lapang and Minister In-Charge Social Welfare Mr Martle N Mukhim to discuss the proposed launch of the programme in the state.
