Munda for people-government corrdination to root out insurgency
Ranchi, May 16 (UNI) Attributing rise in extremist activities in Jharkhand to lack of public-government coordination, the government has asked its officers to take the 'right to information' as the key to success.
Chief Minister Arjun Munda made no bone about his observation at a review committee meeting held last evening with top bureaucrats and asked them to take strong action against any government employee found irresponsible, official sources said today.
Mr Munda admitted that lack of communication was the root cause of extremism in Jharkhand and appealed to the officials to maintain transparency.
The Chief Minister, who has been under criticism particularly from BJP national vice president and Former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi for the government's alleged failure to curb naxalite movement, made his design clear by asking to inculcate sense of responsibility especially in the lowest rung in the hierarchy.
He told the department secretaries and deputy commissioners to take action against those found irresponsible.
Mr Munda said all developmental programmes should reach nook and corner of the state.
Referring to increase in land dispute cases and poor public distribution system, he instructed the DCS to ensure speedy disposal of such cases to avoid public annoyance and also to ensure that poor were benefitted by the PDS scheme.
