Mauritius Vice President calls on Dilip Kumar

Mumbai, May 16 (UNI) Mauritius Vice President Abdool Raouf Bundhun and his family members today called on legendary actor Dilip Kumar at the latter's residence in suburban Mumbai.

Mr Bundhun, his wife and daughter Raifa visited Dilip Kumar and his actress wife Saira Banu at their residence in Pali Hill this evening at 1715 hrs and were together for over an hour.

The visiting dignitary left for the airport from Dilip Kumar's residence.

Mr Bundhun interacted with his screen idol and recalled the movies of the thespian like ''Ganga Jamuna'', ''Devdas'' and many more. He also said that he had seen Shah Rukh Khan's ''Devdas'' and said that it was nowhere near the Bimal Roy's film.

He quizzed Dilip Kumar as to which was his favourite film that he had acted so far, to which Dilip Kumar promptly replied ''Ganga Jamuna''.

Both of them recalled late actor-MP Sunil Dutt whose first death anniversary falls on May 25 this year. Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Banu told the visiting dignitary that the late Dutt, a fine actor, was their close friend.

A tight security was maintained on roads leading to Pali Hill.

The security convoy personnel, including the protocol officers from Delhi and Maharashtra accompanying Mr Bundhun, were treated to snacks, tea, sweets and fruits by Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu. They even got a chance to click photos with the veteran actor. Deputy commissioner of police Amitabh Gupta was also present.

The gracious host, Dilip Kumar, escorted his visitors to their car and accepted their invitation to visit Mauritius.
