Marandi still with BJP: Tewari

Ranchi, May 16 (UNI) Contrary to reports, BJP national vice-president Babulal Marandi did not resign and was still in the party, his private secretary Rajendra Tewari said here today.

When his attention was drawn to some reports that Mr Marandi had resigned from the BJP, Mr Tewari told UNI that the report was totaly baseless and Mr Marandi was at his native village Kodaibank in Giridh district.

Mr Marandi would go ahead with his 24-hour fast against the Jharkhand government's failure to check the naxalite violence in the state at Sewatand tomorrow as per his earlier announcement, he said UNI SCS SJC PK BD2056
