Maldives to follow Doordarshan model in broadcast

New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) Appreciating India's public broadcast system, Maldives today said it would try to follow Doordarshan's model in its broadcast services.

A Maldivian delegation led by Minister of Information&Arts Mohamed Nasheed met Minister of Information&Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs P R Dasmunsi today and discussed issues related to the information sector.

The Maldives Minister during his conversation with Mr Dasmunsi recalled Indian support, especially in training its media personnel, the setting up of recording studios and other facilities related to transmission and broadcast.

Mr Dasmunsi told the delegation that India was willing to exchange all possible help to its neighbour in the field of Information&Broadcasting as well as other areas.

This, he said, would be useful for both the countries. He said his country attached great significance to its relations with Maldives and was committed to all kind of support.
