Letter creates confusion over strike in AIIMS
New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) Even as the AIIMS Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) tonight denied reports that all striking residents had withdrawn from the agitation, hospital authorities said they received a letter confirming that the doctors will resume work from tomorrow.
''These are just rumours to weaken and break our anti-quota movement. We are continuing with the indefinite strike,'' AIIMS RDA Spokesperson Dr Harsh Kumar told UNI.
He said some vested interests were trying to split the doctors.
On the other hand, AIIMS Officiating Deputy Director Mayank Sharma said he had received a letter signed by RDA General Secretary Dr Arvind and Dr Sukhbir which said all residents had withdrawn from the strike.
Meanwhile, the RDA convened an emergency meeting of its executive to dispel confusion created by the letter.
''The letter was not a unanimous decision of the executive but was sent by the two doctors in their individual capacity,'' RDA sources added.
