HSIL records 35% profit in 2005-06; recommends 65% dividend

New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) Hindustan Sanitaryware and Industries Ltd (HSIL), today registered a net profit of 35 per cent at Rs 2582 lakhs for the year ended March 31, 2006, as against 1902 lakhs last year, while recommending a dividend of 65 per cent for its shareholders.

The dividend would be given at the rate of Rs 1.30 per equity share of Rs 2 each.

The gross sales of the company during the year, increased by 32.2 per cent to Rs 43832 lakh from Rs 33155 lakh, while the Earning per Share (EPS) increased by 35.6 per cent to Rs 5.52 from Rs 4.07.

However, the net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, fell by 13 per cent at Rs 822 lakh as compared to Rs 952 lakhs during the corresponding period of the previous year.

The gross sales of the company during the quarter increased by 21.4 per cent to Rs 13470 lakh from Rs 11096 lakh and the Operating Profit increased by 13.0 per cent to Rs 2352 lakh from Rs 2082 lakh.

HSIL is a manufacturer of bathroom and kitchen products and owns brands like Hindware, Keramag and Raasi.
