Srinagar, May 16 (UNI) Heavy rains and hailstorm lashed the entire Kashmir valley today resulting in a dip in temperature even as heat wave conditions prevailed in several parts of the country.

Electricity supply across the summer capital was badly affected after a squal swept through Srinagar this afternoon.

The temperature hovered around 30 degree celsius over the past few days in the Kashmir valley and today's rain have brought the much-needed relief to the people.

Reports of heavy rain have been received from almost all the district headquarters and towns of the Valley.

Domestic tourists were seen enjoying the pleasant weather conditions at the Dal Lake and the Mughal Gardens.

However, farmers have expressed concern over the hailstorm, saying it will damage several crops, including cherry.

Several people have died of heat stroke in many parts of the country.
