Haryana raises Dearness Relief for pensioners
Chandigarh, May 16 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to revise Dearness Relief for its pensioners and family pensioners from 21 to 24 per cent with effect from January 1, 2006.
Stating this here today, Finance Minister Birender Singh said the Dearness Relief would be given to the pensioners on the pattern of they Central government.
By giving three per cent additional Dearness Relief to its pensioners and family pensioners, the state exchequer would have to bear a burden of Rs 1.44 crore per month, he said.
It would be costing Rs 20.16 crore from January 2006 to February 2007 and the future annual liability per year would be Rs 17.28 crore, the Minister said.
