Grenade attack on BSF at Sopore

Baramulla, May 16 (UNI) A Border Security Force (BSF) patrol escaped unhurt when militants hurled a hand grenade at the party in north Kashmir town of Sopore today, official sources said.

They said militants hurled a hand grenade towards a patrol party of the BSF's 122 battalion at Sopore in Barmulla district at around 1730 hrs.

However, the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside without causing any damage.

Later, the security forces cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation to nab the militants.

Meanwhile, a Special Operation Group personnel was arrested on charges of molesting a girl in Tangmarg area of the district.
